showtime

Ten specialists, one director

Your agent directs every video. For studio work and videos you will publish, it can hand parts of the job to ten sub-agents that ship with the plugin. They are optional: a quick video uses none of them, except a researcher and a critic when it will be published, and scene builders for long videos.

The crew at work, 45 seconds, made with showtime. Music: “Artemis” by Scott Buckley, CC BY 4.0. Bee footage in the example 13 frames: Su et al. 2008, PLOS ONE, CC BY 3.0.
The crew as a cast of ten illustrated cards: creative director: Pitches three concepts and a wildcard, then signs off the storyboard.; brand designer: Pulls a brand kit from your repo or site, or proposes one.; scriptwriter: Writes every word you hear or read, each fact tied to a source.; storyboard artist: Turns the picked concept into shots, timings and an animatic.; motion designer: Builds one scene in its own sandbox; several work in parallel.; sound designer: Music bed, effects on cues, the sound logo and a metered mix.; voice director: Casting, pronunciation, the voice-over and other languages.; editor: Cuts real footage by transcript; captions and reframes it.; researcher: Checks every claim against its source and every asset's license.; critic: Watches the draft like a stranger: blocker, should-fix, polish.

Who hands what to whom

Every brief and every result goes through the director. Members never talk to each other or to you, and fixes go back to the member who made the part.

How the crew hands work around: pitch, plan, build, review, deliver, all through the director.

What each one does

Each member reads its brief, works only in its own folder, never uploads, and reports back with a short status.

creative director

Studio, runs on your session's model

Pitches three concepts and a wildcard, then signs off the storyboard.

Your job: the idea. You pitch the concepts, set the tone, choose the device that carries the video, and sign off the storyboard and animatic before the director locks them. You do not judge the finished video (that is the critic) and you do not build scenes.

brand designer

Studio, runs on your session's model

Pulls a brand kit from your repo or site, or proposes one.

Your job: the look's raw material. A brand kit (references/brand-kit.md) the whole crew can build on, extracted from what the product already has or, when there is nothing, proposed and labelled as a proposal. In studio's look phase you also draw the look directions.

scriptwriter

Studio, runs on your session's model

Writes every word you hear or read, each fact tied to a source.

Your job: the words, and the proof behind them. Everything the viewer reads or hears, every line traceable to a source. References: references/story.md (sections 1, 3, 5, 6), references/pacing.md (sections 1 and 6), references/voice.md (Writing for the ear, Word budgets, the script format).

storyboard artist

Studio · Long Videos, runs on your session's model

Turns the picked concept into shots, timings and an animatic.

Your job: the scene plan every builder works from, plus panel thumbnails and the animatic that lets the user judge pace before anything is built. References: references/pacing.md, references/motion-craft.md, references/transitions.md, references/components.md (or references/film-api.md for canvas films), references/render.md.

motion designer

Studio · 6+ Scenes, runs on your session's model

Builds one scene in its own sandbox; several work in parallel.

Your job: build exactly the storyboard rows you were given, as a self-contained fragment the director can drop into the main project. References: references/stage-api.md (clips and the time grammar), references/components.md or references/film-api.md, references/motion-craft.md, references/transitions.md, references/typography.md, references/render.md.

sound designer

Studio, runs on your session's model

Music bed, effects on cues, the sound logo and a metered mix.

Your job: everything the viewer hears except the voice: the music bed, the effects, the sound logo, the balance against the voice, and a mix at the target loudness. References: references/audio.md, references/music.md, references/sound-design.md.

@agent-showtime:sound-designerThe brief

voice director

Studio · Languages, runs on the Sonnet model

Casting, pronunciation, the voice-over and other languages.

Your job: the narration as heard: casting, pronunciation, pacing, the rendered voice-over and, for localized versions, the translated read. Reference: references/voice.md (all of it) and, for other languages, references/workflows/localize.md.

@agent-showtime:voice-directorThe brief

editor

Footage, runs on your session's model

Cuts real footage by transcript; captions and reframes it.

Your job: cut the user's footage by its transcript into the video the contract describes, with captions and other aspects when asked. References: references/editing.md (the workflow, the EDL, the hard rules, self-evaluation), references/captions.md, references/footage-tools.md.

@agent-showtime:editorThe brief

researcher

Publish-Bound, runs on your session's model

Checks every claim against its source and every asset's license.

Your job: truth and rights. Before the final render, every claim in the video is checked against its source and every asset against its license. References: references/story.md section 6, references/assets.md, references/qa.md (the credits rules).

@agent-showtime:researcherThe brief

critic

Publish-Bound, runs on your session's model

Watches the draft like a stranger: blocker, should-fix, polish.

Your job: an honest second pair of eyes on a draft or a final candidate, seen as a stranger sees it. You receive one file: CRITIC.md in a review round folder built by showtime review-pack. It replaces TASK.md for you: it names the video, the pack's images and what to answer. The protocol is references/review.md sections 1 and 3.

Casting

Let your agent cast the company: ask for options first and studio mode brings it in. Call one member by name when you want just that job done. Or say "no crew" and your agent does everything in one session.

When each member is dispatched, and what it costs →

# the whole company, in studio mode
Let's make a launch trailer for this repo. Show me options first.

# one member, by name
@agent-showtime:researcher check the claims in narration.md

# no crew at all
Make it quick, no crew.
